1974 Fender Stratocaster with OHSC

99 USD

1974 Vintage Fender American Stratocaster with original case.

The nut is the only part not original on this guitar.

Serial number is 554057 . At some point a person put a strap button on the upper horn and played it left handed without any other modifications. The neck is in very good condition, there is only a small spot where the lamination is cracked, otherwise I would classify it excellent. The back of the neck is spotless with no nicks or irregularities. Body is as shown, some oxidation and hazing but certainly 100% original. The frets are in surprisingly very good condition considering their age, only the first few have very small dents, easy fix. The frets will need to be leveled and polished as the action is a little high but playable.

The pots date to 1973 actually 1377345 . The grey bottom pickups read 5.25, 5.37 and 5.63 respectively. These pickups have tremendous tone and are all date stamped. The Volume pot has a split shaft (missing one half), other than that it works perfectly, the original 3 way switch side plate has come out of the base, it works and does select the pickups but it does not click into place. I will include an original 1974 3-way switch (never installed stock replacement) for free if you choose to replace it but the original switch currently installed will function just fine.

The case is also missing two latches but I have matching replacements that I will include at no extra cost.

I have $2500 currently invested in this project, but I don't have the time nor money to complete it. It has been sitting in my closet on top of shipping boxes since being purchased. I'm willing to negotiate on price for a serious buyer. Feel free to contact me with any questions or requests for more.
